Patent Application of Natural Hair Tonic was 102 Cases … Charcoal, Yellow Mud is Used
  As hair loss(Alopecia) caused by stress is recently pervading from the old and men even to women and the young, hair tonics to prevent Alopecia is actively developed with natural materials.
  According to Korean Industry Property, patent applications related to Alopecia prevention during past decade were 199 cases, among which those containing natural substances such as vegetable and fruit materials accounted for 51.2%, 102 cases.
  The entire patent applications of hair tonic for Alopecia prevention increased more than four times from 12 cases in 1994-95 to 55 cases in 2002-03, while those containing natural substance increased about six times from 6 cases in 1994-95 to 35 cases in 2002-03.
  Natural hair tonic has gained popularity as it is less harmful on health with stronger function to protect hair skin.
  Especially, patent applications of cleaning materials such as shampoo and soap which contain natural substance were 28 cases.
  The natural substances are extracted from mainly ginseng, black soybean, black sesame, and so on. Recently, research to use charcoal and yellow mud into hair tonic is under way.

	Patent Application of Hair Loss Prevention

  Meanwhile, the number of Korean people who suffer from Alopecia is estimated at 3.5 million and it is reported that 20-30% of women in their forties show symptom of hair loss.
  Therefore, Korean market of Alopecia prevention tonic has shown double growth from ￦200 billion in 2002 to ￦400 billion in 2004. The market is expected to expedite its growth with proliferation of Alopeica into young ages.
